Woman Pleads Guilty to Second Degree Murder, Receives 20 Years
Prosecutors in Charme Allen’s Major Crimes Unit obtained a conviction today for Second Degree Murder against Catalina Davila, 36, in the shooting death of her ex-boyfriend, Joshua Fox. Under the terms of the plea agreement, Davila must serve twenty years in the Tennessee Department of Correction.
In a plea submission today, Assistant District Attorney Kevin Allen explained to Judge Steve Sword that on July 4, 2015, KPD Investigator Brandon Wardlaw responded to a shooting at 356 Atlantic Avenue. Victim Joshua Fox was found in a back bedroom in the house with a single gunshot wound to his chest. Witnesses told the police that they heard Davila arguing with Fox when a single shot rang out. Davila was seen exiting the back bedroom holding a silver handgun. Social media posts by Davila in the days before the shooting revealed that she had made threatening statements to Fox.
Because of the nature of the offense, Davila will not be eligible to meet with the parole board before she serves eighty-five percent of her twenty-year sentence.
