Search Warrant Leads to Cocaine Conviction

After only an hour of deliberation, a Knox County jury convicted Aaron Christopher Rogers, 24, of Possession with Intent to Sell Cocaine, Simple Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. ADA Sean McDermott with the Felony Drug Unit offered evidence from a search warrant executed by KPD Repeat Offender Squad Officer Michael Geddings at 1827 Riverside Drive, Apartment 501. During the search on December 5, 2012, Ofc. Geddings found crack cocaine, marijuana, and marijuana pipes. Rogers denied possession of the cocaine when interviewed by Ofc. Geddings, but the jury found otherwise.

“Cocaine continues to be one of the most dangerous drugs plaguing our community,” said DA Charme P. Allen.”My Office will continue to aggressively prosecute crack dealers to get them off our streets.”

ADA McDermott argued that Rogers’ bond should be revoked upon conviction, and Judge Scott Green agreed. Rogers is currently being held without bond pending sentencing set for June 25.
