North Knoxville Residence Padlocked Due to Drug Trafficking

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Career Gang and Felony Drug Units and investigators with KPD’s Organized Crime Unit have closed a North Knoxville residence that has been a hub of drug activity. 3104 Forestdale Avenue was closed today by order of Judge Bob McGee under the state nuisance law.

According to a petition filed by General Allen, the residence has been the scene of thirty-six calls for service over the past fourteen months. Many of the calls reported a high volume of traffic at the residence because the occupants were selling methamphetamine. In December, Knoxville Police Department officers executed a search warrant at the address and recovered eighty grams of methamphetamine with a street value around $5000. Officers also recovered five handguns, three rifles, a shotgun, ammunition, body armor, and drug distribution paraphernalia.”Because drug traffic continued at the house even after the search warrant, we wanted to padlock the house to end this criminal activity and give some peace to the surrounding neighbors,” said DA Allen. In short, the residence operates as a haven for criminal activity, is known in the area as such, and is a continued threat to this community.

This nuisance injunction marks the fifty-seventh closure by the District Attorney’s Office and Knoxville Police Department in their ongoing collaboration to make neighborhoods safer from the activities that affect the safety and quality of life of residents in this community.
