Methamphetamine Dealer Sentenced to Twenty-Three Years
Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Career Gang Unit obtained multiple convictions today against a man charged in multiple cases of methamphetamine dealing. In a plea agreement announced before Judge Scott Green, Jason Wayne Seabolt, 36, was convicted of Possession with Intent to Sell Methamphetamine in a Drug Free School Zone, Possession with Intent to Sell Methamphetamine, and several misdemeanor offenses. Under the terms of the agreement, Seabolt must serve twenty-three years in prison with the first fifteen years to be served without the possibility of parole.
During the plea colloquy, Assistant District Attorney Phil Morton explained to the Court that on July 27, 2013, officers with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded to a suspicious person call at Walgreen’s at 9200 Middlebrook Pike. Officers found Seabolt passed out in his vehicle in the parking lot. When officers were able to wake Seabolt, he exited his car, and a plastic bag containing 7.11 grams of methamphetamine fell from his lap. On June 9, 2014, while on bond for the first case, Sheriff’s officers conducted a traffic stop of Seabolt at 814 Brakebill Road and found him to be in possession of 49.36 grams of methamphetamine. In the past eighteen years, Seabolt has been convicted of twenty-five prior felony convictions out of Knox, Roane, and Morgan Counties for cocaine, Aggravated Burglary, Burglary, and Theft cases.
“If you have managed to accumulate twenty-five felony convictions and you continue to commit crimes, you have no place in our society,” said DA Charme Allen.
