Man Convicted of Rape Receives Maximum Sentence

Prosecutors in District Attorney General Charme P. Allen’s Child Abuse Unit obtained the maximum sentence today for convicted rapist Lance Elliott Falcon. Falcon, 38, was ordered into custody back in February following a two-day jury trial in which prosecutors Kit Rodgers and Kevin Teeters obtained convictions for Rape, Statutory Rape by an Authority Figure, and Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure. At trial, Rodgers and Teeters presented the State’s investigation, which began in July 2010 when the victim disclosed sexual abuse by Falcon. Knox County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Brian Williams interviewed witnesses and obtained a recorded phone call in which Falcon made several incriminating statements to the victim. The jury deliberated for less than two hours before finding Falcon guilty-as-charged on all counts.

During the sentencing today, Rodgers cited the Defendant’s lack of remorse, prior criminal behavior, and the effect of the crime on the victim as justification for an enhanced sentence. Judge Scott Green agreed handing down the maximum sentence possible for Rape citing overwhelming evidence of guilt and adding that he would have given Falcon more than twelve years if the law allowed.
