Jury Convicts Miguel Angel Ortiz-Rolon of Aggravated Robbery on September 3, 2014
A Knox County jury has convicted Miguel Angel Ortiz-Rolon of Aggravated Robbery. Ortiz-Rolon was arrested by officers with the Knoxville Police Department after he robbed an individual at the La Quinta Inn on North Peters Road on December 26, 2011. Prosecutor TaKisha Fitzgerald presented the State’s case during the two-day trial in front of Criminal Court Judge Steve Sword. Judge Sword will sentence Ortiz-Rolon at a future court date. Ortiz-Rolon is facing eight to 12 years in prison, which could be ordered to run consecutively to a federal sentence that he is currently serving.
