Defendant Convicted of Sixty-Two Home Burglaries Heads to Prison

Defendant Paris James Long, 36, is headed to prison for the next thirty years after prosecutors with DA Charme Allen’s Career Gang Unit obtained seventy-seven convictions based on sixty-two separate home-invasion burglaries. Assistant District Attorney Phil Morton outlined the State’s proof in a hearing before Judge Scott Green.

Morton explained that from August 2013 to October 2014, Long committed sixty-two distinct Aggravated Burglaries with additional counts of Theft and Vandalism where he entered the homes of sixty-two victims all across Knox County and stole property with a total value exceeding $133,000.

“”I created the Career Gang Unit to aggressively prosecute criminals like this who show that they have dedicated their lives to committing crimes in our community,”” said DA Allen.””When you have committed this many home-invasions, you are no longer a productive member of society, and you deserve to be removed from society.””
