Cocaine Dealer, Gang Member Nets Twenty-Year Sentence
Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Career Gang Unit obtained multiple convictions today against a drug dealer who is also a member of the Bloods criminal street gang. In a plea agreement announced before Judge Bob McGee, Edward Anthony Wilson, 36, was convicted of Possession with Intent to Sell Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell Heroin, and Possession with Intent to Sell Marijuana. Under the terms of the agreement, Wilson must serve twenty years in prison.
During the plea colloquy, Assistant District Attorney TaKisha Fitzgerald explained to the Court that on May 1, 2015, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at 4630 Old Kingston Pike based on information from a concerned citizen that Wilson was selling drugs from within the apartment. Once inside the apartment, officers discovered 266.28 grams of cocaine, the equivalent of approximately 1300 individual units of cocaine with a street value of over $26,000. He also possessed 228.84 grams of marijuana and 5.67 grams of heroin that was packaged for resale. Wilson is a Range II Multiple Offender due to several prior felony convictions for cocaine and firearms cases from Delaware.
“This case was possible because of a concerned citizen who stood up against crime in their community,” said DA Charme Allen.”By combining this information from the public and the hard work of the Sheriff’s detectives investigating this case, my office was able to take this gang member off the streets for a long time.”
