Career Criminal with Fifteen Prior Felonies Convicted Again

Prosecutors in District Attorney General Charme Allen’s Career Gang Unit obtained a conviction today against a man who has fifteen prior felony convictions. Terry Huck Trammell, 43, was convicted by a jury of Theft. Because Trammell is classified as a Career Offender, the only possible sentence is the maximum for a Class D felony, twelve years in prison.

In a one-witness trial before Judge Scott Green, Assistant District Attorney TaKisha Fitzgerald explained to the jury that on July 9, 2015, Trammell walked into the Aaron’s store located at 2605 North Broadway and took two tablets, hid them under his clothes, and left without paying for them. The entire crime was captured on store surveillance video and played for the jury.

“When I created the Career Gang Unit, I wanted a team of attorneys and support staff who focused special attention on offenders with lengthy criminal histories or ties to street gangs,” said DA Allen.”Thanks to the hard work of the dedicated members of that unit, this offender received the maximum sentence possible.”

Trammell has fifteen prior felony convictions dating back twenty-two years for offenses including Aggravated Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Burglary, Theft and Forgery. In addition to being a career offender, Trammell is also a member of the Crips criminal street gang.
