Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Nu Zeta Chapter Names DA Charme Allen as 2017 Woman to Woman Honoree
District Attorney General Charme Allen is grateful to the Nu Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. for recognizing her as a Woman to Woman Honoree in the category of Politics and Government at their Annual Scholarship and Awards Breakfast. The Breakfast was held in celebration of Finer Womanhood Month on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Bridgewater Place, with Mr. Kevin DuBose as the Guest Speaker. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. is a community-conscious, action-oriented organization, established for the purpose of promoting the cause of education by encouraging the highest standards of scholarship through scientific, literary, cultural, and educational programs; promoting charitable projects on college campuses and within the community; fostering the spirit of sisterly love; and, promoting the idea of Finer Womanhood. Fannie Clay, Georgia Stone Davis, Almeda Ford Drewery, Valanine Williams Macklin, and Carrie Williams McDade chartered the Nu Zeta Chapter in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1935 in order to help support the aforementioned national initiatives.
Pictured on the left with General Allen is our Truancy Coordinator Robin Jones, the current President of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Nu Zeta Chapter. The other four Woman to Woman Honorees include Ms. Regan Adams (Entrepreneurship), Reverend Donna Butler (Spirituality/Religion), Dr. Tioni Lewis (Education), and Ms. Quineka Moten (Community Service), and the Scholarship Recipients include Emyle Stansberry, Hillary Briggs, and Brandy Mmbaga.
