Child Abuser Convicted of Aggravated Rape
DA Charme Allen announces that prosecutors in the Child Abuse Unit obtained multiple convictions against a man who gave alcohol and drugs to a minor then sexually assaulted her. Randall Fairchild Myers, 52, was convicted of two counts of Aggravated Rape and one count of Incest. Judge Hector Sanchez set the case for sentencing on November 14 where Myers faces a minimum of fifteen to twenty-five years in prison without the possibility of parole.
In a two-day trial, Assistant District Attorneys Heather Ens and Ashley McDermott explained to the jury that in the summer of 2022, when the victim was thirteen, Myers and his wife/co-defendant, Abigail Myers, provided the victim with alcohol and marijuana. After that, Randall Myers sexually assaulted the child multiple times, telling the victim the assault was her fault because her shorts were too short. Several months later, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the rape after Abigail Myers confessed to the crime in a note to a friend. KCSO Det. Preston Huddleston led the investigation; however, Randall Myers fled the jurisdiction and was missing for nearly two years before he was caught by the U.S. Marshals in 2024. Abigail Myers pled guilty to Rape and received a sentence of eighteen years in prison. At trial, she testified about her role in the rape and corroborated the victim’s testimony.
“Because of the bravery of this victim and the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies, this offender has been apprehended and held accountable for his crimes,” said DA Allen.
Aggravated Rape is a Class A felony that, at the time of the offense, carried a punishment of fifteen to twenty-five years in prison. At sentencing, prosecutors will ask the judge to sentence Myers at the top of the range and to run the counts consecutive to one another. Assistant Victim Witness Coordinator Leah Graves and Legal Secretary Erin Morrison aided in the prosecution of this case.
