Convenience Store Robber Caught on Video

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Major Crimes Unit obtained a conviction against a man who robbed a convenience store off Maynardville Pike. Tony Lynn Nix, 47, was convicted of Aggravated Robbery. At sentencing, Nix will face between eight and twelve years in prison without the possibility of parole.

At trial, Assistant District Attorney Leslie Nassios explained to the jury that on March 19, 2016, Nix entered the Allstar Market at 8920 Maynardville Pike, walked behind the counter, brandished a handgun, and demanded money. Nix fled the store with cash, but not before being recorded by the store’s video surveillance system. Detective Timothy Sellers and other investigators with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office responded, ultimately arresting Nix the next day.
