Knoxville Man Convicted of Raping 15-Year-Old Girl

A jury has convicted Eric James Foster, 24, of the aggravated rape of a 15-year-old girl. Prosecutors Nate Ogle and Joanie Stewart of the Child Abuse Unit presented proof in a two-day trial that Foster lured the victim into their South Knoxville residence in January 2016 and provided her alcohol until she became unconscious. While the victim was passed out, Foster violently raped her. The evidence showed that Foster later bathed the victim in an apparent attempt to destroy any biological evidence of the attack.

“Sexual victimization of anyone, especially children, will not be tolerated in this jurisdiction,” says District Attorney General Charme P. Allen.

Foster will remain in custody until his sentencing date of October 19, 2017, when Criminal Court Judge Steve W. Sword will determine the length of Foster’s sentence. Foster will receive 15 to 25 years in the state penitentiary. He must serve 85-percent of the sentence before being eligible for release.
