Career Offender Convicted of Theft

Prosecutors in DA Charme Allen’s Career Gang Unit obtained a conviction against a thief with eleven prior felony convictions. Charles Preston Keesee, 43, was convicted of Theft over $1000. After the jury returned their verdict, Judge Scott Green set the case for sentencing on August 11.

At trial, Assistant District Attorney TaKisha Fitzgerald explained to the jury that on September 10, 2014, Keesee was seen on video at Wal-Mart on Kinzel Way stealing several boxes of tools. Days later, on September 15, 2014, Keesee went to the same Wal-Mart and was recorded on video again stealing tools.

Theft over $1000 is a Class D felony. Because Keesee has eleven prior felony convictions, he is facing a sentence of twelve years to serve, and he is not eligible to meet with the parole board until he serves at least sixty percent of his sentence.
