Another Detroit Heroin Dealer Sent to Prison

Yet another Detroit heroin dealer was sent to prison today due to the work of Charme Allen’s Felony Drug Unit. Detroit native Khari Keyatou Jones, 38, pled guilty to four counts of Sale of Heroin in a Drug Free Zone in a case prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ken Irvine. Under the terms of the plea agreement approved by Judge Steve Sword, Jones must serve a nine-year sentence in the Tennessee Department of Correction.

In April and May of 2012, Jones was caught on video selling heroin to a confidential informant working for Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Andrew Chapman. Chapman used the informant to purchase heroin from Jones in an alley behind 2229 Mississippi Avenue, which is located in a Drug Free Zone. Due to the fact that Jones sold heroin in a Drug Free Zone, he must serve at least eight years in prison before he is eligible for parole.

DA Charme Allen again warned heroin dealers about selling drugs in Knoxville.””It is not worth it. When we catch you, we will send you to prison for a very long time.””
